During our apprenticeship in Capri, We would often take a beautiful pleasant walk starting from Vincenzo’s atelier near the Piazzetta through the arch on Via Longano, and continue along Via Matermania to Via Arco Naturale. From the Tragara viewing point, a little pathway skirts round the right hand side of the terrace, to join the Pizzolungo footpath which traces the coastline all the way to the Natural Arch.
Our favorite place to have lunch was Le Grottelle, situated just a few steps away from the Natural Arc. The kitchen, which serves authentic island cuisine has been built within cave-like hollows in the rock face. Our meals were served on a fabulous sunny terrace with stunning views across the water to the Amalfi coast, Campanella point, the Galli islands, Salerno and the Calabrian mountains.
